So.. after quite a long break, I have finally found something to work on. A lot of you are probably asking - when is the new Omnimo version coming? It's difficult to answer that, because ~Xyrfo has formally abandoned development (and a long time ago, too), while I have limited resources on my part. My university studies have become increasingly time-consuming, therefore I wasn't able to do much in these few months.
However, now I have a winter break (or so to speak), which will allow me to work on some new stuff. I already gathered some ideas for the next version, but I'm still not sure whether or not it should be Omnimo 4.5 or 5.0 as (unlike Mozilla), each number should signify a milestone with major upgrades.
Still, it's early to talk about the new version. The next few months will be exciting for all of us because we'll be having Windows 8 public beta in February 2012. I can only assume we'll have leaks, screenshots and videos before that. I'll try my best to keep you Omnimo fans up to date with the latest Windows 8 stuff, but for now, there isn't really much to talk about.

The current version of Omnimo has all the resources needed to make your desktop look exactly like the one I just posted. The wallpaper is a desaturated and darkened version of this: [link] And the new Metro color is 0,159,194
Let me know if you have any specific feature suggestions for the next version of Omnimo, by the way. (and no, multiple pages can only be done with dexpot now) Thanks!

4.1 Beta Testing today
We're proud to announce that 4.1 has entered the beta testing phase. Several lucky omnimo fans will get the highly anticipated update early and will hopefully report bugs in order to deliver a final high quality release. Just a reminder that 4.1 is quite a significant update - it includes a bunch of new panels (in form of two packs which you will be able to download from our website), lots of fixes and other various additions. You'll be able to either clean install Omnimo or simply Upgrade without overwriting any of your settings.
We hope to release Omnimo within a few days. I wanted to have it released before my birthday, but it looks like it will be released EXACTLY on my birthday :D
Stay tuned and thanks for using Omnimo!

4.0 Release
Yesterday, at about 22:10 GMT+2.0 time, we released the long awaited 4th version of this project. We dedicated a lot of our free time to this new version, which brings you more optimized panels, improved performance, a more centralized app system, bug fixes, languages and many new customization abilities. But the release is not yet fully completed, we are eagerly awaiting Rainmeter 2.1 to bring new features such as oAuth for twitter authentication (supertweet is a whole different story), finished NowPlaying plugin and other stuff. Chances that you are currently using Rainmeter 2.1 Beta for the aero effects presented in the new version of Omnimo. Anyway, we are carefully tracking all bugs at the moment, and will be releasing fixes periodically. If you found any bugs, let us know! Meanwhile, enjoy Omnimo 4 :)

Halfway in Omnimo 4 development
This was quite unexpected really, since we genuinely thought that Omnimo 3.1 would be our last version. We also thought that when we released Omnimo 2. I guess there's always room for improvement, and indeed we're improving a lot of things in this next version. We're focusing mainly on fixing existing stuff, making the experience more pleasurable, rather than mass producing stuff like we did before. Quality over quantity. Anyway expect a release within a few weeks, depending on how busy we are with other things that don't concern this project.
